Rossotrudnichestvo supports initiatives of compatriots living abroad

Over the past year, Rossotrudnichestvo actively involved Russian-speaking diaspora in the life of modern Russia, assuring the conservation and development of scientific, cultural, and educational ties.

In 2016, compatriots from 67 countries participated in programs supported by Rossotrudnichestvo. More than 80 festivals, concerts, exhibitions, fairs and competitions, as well as around 170 events dedicated to the memorable dates of Russian history, culture, anniversaries of prominent figures of Russian culture were organized on the territory of Russia and in Rossotrudnichestvo overseas centers. The total number of events exceeded 600.

A feature of the year was the intensification of cooperation with civil initiatives and projects. Rossotrudnichestvo supported 150 initiatives of public associations of compatriots for the organization of festivals, creative competitions, exhibitions, sports competitions.

The main attention was traditionally paid to work with young compatriots. The most popular and large-scale activities in this direction were the second World Games of Young Compatriots, the project of educational trips to historical Russian sites "Hello, Russia!", and events dedicated to the celebration of the Day of National Unity and the Russian Language Day.
