The "Prospects and Opportunities for Strengthening Security and Cooperation in Europe" International Conference finished its work in Russia’s Kaliningrad. The event, which took place in the Museum of the World Ocean, gathered well-known political figures from Russia and abroad, as well as 68 delegates of the “New Generation” representing 28 countries. Deputy Chairman of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Andrei Turchak welcomed the young leaders and emphasized the importance of youth participation in the discussion of contemporary agenda. “We are well aware that those who will soon take the baton from older generations should take the most active part in the struggle for genuine peace in Europe,” he says. “The choices you make today will determine the world you will live in the future.” At the conclusion of his speech, Turchak thanked the authorities of the Kaliningrad region, Rossotrudnichestvo, Russian diplomats and all participants for organizing the conference and taking part in it. Before the official opening of the event, “New Generation” delegates had an opportunity to meet with Andrei Turchak in a more informal atmosphere and discuss the prospects for strengthening security and cooperation in Europe and the role of youth in this process. European public and political figures also spoke at the "Prospects and Opportunities for Strengthening Security and Cooperation in Europe" conference and touched on various security challenges facing Europe, including some actors’ attempts to establish a unipolar world order, violate state sovereignty as well as spread anti-Russian propaganda.
