Deputy Head of Rossotrudnichestvo Alexander Radkov spoke at the opening of the event and expressed his hope that European countries will work together as good neighbors respecting each other’s culture, traditions, and national identity.

Among the participants of the conference there were 67 delegates of Rossotrudnichestvo’s “New Generation” program representing 28 countries.

According to Radkov, this youth program, on the one hand, allows young leaders from different countries to gain new knowledge and establish useful contacts, while, on the other, offer Russia an opportunity to strengthen its ties with other countries.

Deputy Chairman of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Andrei Turchak and member of the Federation Council (Deputy Chairman of the Committee on Foreign Affairs) Andrei Klimov also spoke at the gala opening of the event.

The “Security and Cooperation in the 21st Century” International Conference is held by the Russian Parliamentary European Club with support from Rossotrudnichestvo. The event is dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall (Nov. 9, 1989) that marked the end of the Cold War. The conference aims to increase young leaders’ participation in a serious discussion about the prospects of security and cooperation in Eurasia.
