The SputnikPro CIS participants visited the premises of Rossotrudnichestvo and met with the Head of the Agency Eleonora Mitrofanova. She told the guests about the history and rich experience of the organization, the main directions of the work of its central office and the network of foreign representative offices.

She pointed out that Rossotrudnichestvo pays special attention to youth and students. The Agency annually enrolls 15,000 foreigners to study in Russian universities and actively works with Russian compatriots living abroad. Within the World Junior Compatriot Games alone, 750 children visit Russia every year. According to Mitrofanova, this is “a very difficult, responsible and troublesome work.”

The Head of Rossotrudnichestvo talked about the New Generation program allowing the youth from all over the world to visit Russia. Among them there usually are young specialists in a variety of fields: architects, engineers, journalists, scientists, young government officials, diplomats, etc.

Eleonora Mitrofanova also pointed out that the main objective of Rossotrudnichestvo is a large-scale humanitarian mission and promotion of Russian culture. “The Year of Theater is taking place right now, and our cultural centers hold theater performances. For instance, the "School of Modern Play" Theater has opened its office in the Russian Center for Science and Culture in Berlin. We have cultural centers in the CIS countries as well, and their doors are always open for you,” she said.
