The Blockade Book being read in Athens

From 3 to 9 April, St. Petersburg hosted the Third Educational Program for Young Compatriots "Reading the Blockade Book", organized by the Committee for External Relations of St. Petersburg, in cooperation with Rossotrudnichestvo, and dedicated to the 72nd anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War.

Program participants from different countries had the opportunity to visit the main memorial sites and museums of St. Petersburg associated with the blockade of Leningrad, including the Piskaryovskoye cemetery, the Motherland Monument, the Road of Life.

During the meeting with members and activists of the societies of veterans and blockade survivors ("Children of the Blocade 900" and "Inhabitants of the Siege of Leningrad"), one of the participants of the program from Greece Angelos Afuksenidis-Papadopoulos read a poem "At the Obelisk" by S. Pivovarov at the St. Petersburg City Youth Creativity Palace (Anichkov Palace).
