Rossotrudnichestvo will help hold the International Methodological Development Competition “Victory Lessons” in Russian schools abroad, the head of the Agency Eleonora Mitrofanova said at the first meeting of the organizing committee of the International Methodological Development Competition “Victory Lessons”, held at INA “Russia Today”.

The “Victory Lessons” International Competition, dedicated to the 75th anniversary of the Victory and declared by the President of Russia Vladimir Putin the Year of Memory and Glory, will be held from September 1, 2019 to May 9, 2020. According to the organizers of the contest, its main goal is to preserve the historical memory of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War.

The competition aims to develop new methods and practices for patriotic education and training of schoolchildren. Finalists of the competition will come to the festival of winners in Moscow and present their lessons in Moscow schools, at seminars and on the platforms of its initiators - the Russian Historical Society and the GC "Enlightenment". The best works of the finalists will be published on specialized resources and will be available for use by everyone.

In the course of the preparation for the competition, the meeting participants discussed organizational issues, including the composition of the jury, the schedule and the regulations on the competition.

As the chairman of the Russian Historical Society Sergey Naryshkin noted, one of the central themes of the competition would be the liberation mission of the Red Army in Eastern Europe. Tens of thousands of teachers from Russian and foreign schools will take part in “Victory Lessons”. According to the experts participating in the meeting, expanding the number of nominations is the right decision, since patriotic parenting is a complex process in which all academic disciplines are important, not just history. To attract more attention to the competition abroad, Eleonora Mitrofanova proposed to increase the total number of winners, as well as include special nominations for teachers teaching in Russian schools abroad.

In turn, Eleonora Mitrofanova emphasized that Rossotrudnichestvo had already prepared exhibitions, documentaries and feature films for showing on the platforms of Russian Centers for Science and Culture and Embassies of the Russian Federation as part of the upcoming 75th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War.
