On January 10, at 18:30, the Russian Centre for Science and Culture in Rome will open an exhibition of works by the winners and finalists of the fourth Photo Contest of the Russian Geographical Society «The most beautiful country».
The photo contest «The Most Beautiful Country» is a large-scale media project of the Russian Geographical Society, aimed at preserving Russia's wilderness and fostering respect for the environment through the art of photography. For the first time the photo contest took place in 2015 and caused a wide public response. In 2018, about 47 thousand works from 8 thousand photographers from Russia and other countries participated in the competition.
There are 12 nominations in the competition. Among them are «landscape» (the most popular nomination among the participants of the competition), «Indigenous and Minority Peoples of Russia», revealing the identity of the peoples of Russia, «Underwater World» — photos taken underwater, «Cultural Heritage» — the nomination is intended to draw attention to the material and the spiritual culture of our country, created by past generations and valuable to contemporaries, and others.
In the photographs sent by the participants of the photo contest «The Most Beautiful Country», you can see the gulls circle over a lonely island, a polar bear, who hunts , the way the ice sparkles under the pale polar sun and the flocks of bright birds in the sky.
The exhibition will be open until February 7, 2019.
