On June 29, 2019, during Russian President’s visit to Japan, Vladimir Putin and Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe announced in a joint communiqué a decision to carry out a Year of Russian-Japanese interregional and twin-city exchanges. Rossotrudnichestvo acts as co-organizer of a number of events of the Year’s working calendar.
Russia and France decided that 2021 would be a cross Year of Regional Cooperation. Rossotrudnichestvo is engaged in the implementation of the Year’s action plan.
The second Caspian Economic Forum will be held in Astrakhan in August 2021. The forum has been designed to become a platform for dealing with the whole range of Caspian states’ interaction issues.
The first Caspian Economic Forum was held on August 12, 2019, in Turkmenistan. A year earlier, the Heads of Russia, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Turkmenistan and Iran signed a convention on the legal status of the Caspian Sea. The document enshrines the five countries’ exclusive rights to the Caspian Sea, its responsible exploitation and use of its floor and other resources.
Rossotrudnichestvo is engaged in organizing meetings within the Forum of Twin Cities of the Caspian Sea Region.
